Castaway Portland Wedding: Gretchen + Mike

What do you get when you mix two parts amazingly cool, one cute wedding dress, amazing wedding favors, gorgeous weather, and a room full of loving and beautiful people?
You get Gretchen and Mike’s wedding that took place this past weekend at the fabulous Castaway Portland.

I’m going to warn you ahead of time, there are a TON of images here. I literally could not cut them down anymore as I just loved this wedding so much! It was full of cute and unique details, spiffy dressed people, and the most adorable couple you ever did see. Gretchen and Mike met in the THIRD grade! They started dating in high school and last year Mike surprised Gretchen with a trip to Italy where he proposed. It’s a true love story if I have ever heard one and their wedding was just as magical.

Gretchen wore a beautiful tea length gown while Mike looked dashing in all navy and blue. Instead of vows, they read a poem and instead of normal favors…they gave each one of their guests a personalized rogue beer bottle! Oh, did I forget to mention that Gretchen does PR for Microsoft and Xbox and Mike is the President at Rogue Spirits and Marketing at Rogue Ales? Yeah…POWER COUPLE. But you wouldn’t know that from hanging out with them. They’re both so humble, so loved by their friends and family, and SO much fun! I think everyone in the wedding had me cracking up the whole day and it made for the absolute best pictures.

So, venture on! Although there are a ton of photos in this post, I promise you…it’s so worth it.<3

Floral Inspiration Shoot: Fleur:ology Floral and Styling

Last week I had the privilege of photographing Fleur:ology Floral and Styling’s floral inspiration shoot. If you haven’t heard of Fleur:ology or seen Liz’s work you are seriously missing out. It’s simple, elegant, feminine, whimsical, and all around kick you in the pants gorgeous.

I was so excited to be a part of this shoot. I knew Liz was going to knock it out of the park with the florals, but I didn’t know that the location was going to be so take your breath away gorgeous, or that the light was going to be like soft kisses on everything it touched. It was seriously a beautiful day, but you don’t have to take my word for it. I’m pretty sure the images say more than I ever could. ❤

Erica and Jessie: Roloff Farm Wedding Photographer

I posted a sneak peek of Erica and Jessie’s wedding at Roloff Farm last night, but now it’s time to sit back, relax, and take in what an absolute majestic beauty this wedding really was!

Erica and Jessie not only met in High School, but also went back to the location where it all began to start the new chapter of their lives! Jessie blindfolded Erica and drove her in circles so she wouldn’t know where they were going. (They live in a very small town) He lured her to the High School stadium where he proposed…if that doesn’t sound like an episode of Friday Night Lights then I don’t know what does. Needless to say, I fell in love with Erica (and her mom!) instantly. They have such vivacious personalities, were extremely excited about their wedding, and put a TON of love and effort into making it everything Erica could have ever dreamed of. They cut all the burlap themselves, hand-made all of the signs that decorated the venue, found reclaimed lumber to use as a runner for their gorgeous tables, and 100% committed to their theme of shabby/country chic.

Even though there were a ton of details all around us, you could tell that each and every one of them meant something. That Erica and her family put effort into it and that it was somehow related or connected to her, Jessie, and their love. They had pictures of them everywhere. Showcasing their lives up to this point and celebrating their new life together. I am SO SO SO SO SO SSOOOOOOOO (is it obvious enough yet?) honored Erica and Jessie chose me to help document their amazing wedding and to the Roloff’s for being so warm and inviting. This new venue is literally a STUNNER and if you are looking for the absolute perfect barn with a perfect view to get married, LOOK NO FURTHER!

I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking (by the way…I apologize in advance for posting a TON, I literally could not narrow it down anymore) and a huge thank you again to the amazing vendors involved who helped make this day the success it was.

Erica and Jessie Sneak Peek! Little People Big World: Wedding Farm Episode

I have been DYING to share this wedding since I shot it in August. I’ll save all the juicy details about the wedding until the full post tomorrow, but I wanted to post at least a little snippet tonight in honor of the episode FINALLY airing on TLC at 9pm! Some of my east coast friends and family have already seen the episode, but since I live on the West Coast I thought it only fair that I post it at 9pm my time. McMenamin’s Octagonal Barn Wedding: Krystle and Nate – Hello Kitty Galore

This week in lieu of a WWD, I’ll be posting a real wedding I shot a couple weeks ago that definitely stole my heart. I’m not a huge hello kitty fanatic, but I’ve had plenty of friends who are and understandably so. However, I don’t think anyone can compare with Krystle. She is obviously quite fond of Hello Kitty and I quickly caught on to the theme of her wedding. From the beautiful pink bridesmaids dresses, to the hello kitty veil, bags, thermos, and the bouquet (the icing on the cake) her wedding was 100% stylish with a fun touch of youthful whimsy! All topped off with an amazing desert bar by VooDoo Doughnuts and Bliss Cupcakes. Who could ask for a more perfect group of people to be around? However, the real show stopper was Krystle herself. She looked so drop dead beautiful I almost shed a tear as she walked down the aisle!
Okay, who am I kidding?! I most definitely did!

Wednesday Wedding Do’s! — Side Table Scape

Either I’m slowing down or time is speeding up. Wednesday just keeps coming faster and faster each week!

This week’s Wednesday Wedding Do is from Jasmine Star’s creativeLIVE inspiration shoot I attended a couple of months ago. I’m feeling super nostalgic and missing all my friends so I thought I would highlight my trip again and take a little walk down memory lane. Plus, these side table scape’s are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Every bride should do this even if it is just for the wedding party table! Seriously…just do it and then watch everyone ogle and awe over them.
