Wednesday Wedding Do’s! — Side Table Scape

Either I’m slowing down or time is speeding up. Wednesday just keeps coming faster and faster each week!

This week’s Wednesday Wedding Do is from Jasmine Star’s creativeLIVE inspiration shoot I attended a couple of months ago. I’m feeling super nostalgic and missing all my friends so I thought I would highlight my trip again and take a little walk down memory lane. Plus, these side table scape’s are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Every bride should do this even if it is just for the wedding party table! Seriously…just do it and then watch everyone ogle and awe over them.

To view the table in all it’s glory check out Jasmine’s Blog post about it: here

Wednesday Wedding Do’s! — BOLD necklaces!

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it is Wednesday already. It feels like I JUST posted last week’s Wednesday Wedding Do! I have been so busy planning my styled shoot that is rapidly approaching and fulfilling my resolution for the year to put myself out there more, network, and make some deng friends in this wonderful industry! Anywho…without further ado I present to you probably my favorite Wednesday Wedding Do thus far! Dun, dun, dun ….BOLD NECKLACES!

I know a lot of Brides are always worried about their dress neck line and therefore opt for the simple small necklace (if any necklace at all) and I’m here to tell you…
achem,
**pulls out megaphones**
“LADIES….THERE IS ANOTHER WAY!”

Big, Bold, Beautiful jewelry will not only complement your dress, but it will make you fabulous and draw attention to the person who matters most in this picture…YOU, duh. [;

There are a few things you can do to make sure your big beautiful necklace adds to your look and doesn’t make you look all Mr. T starter kit on us!

So First: Wear preferably a strapless dress that doesn’t have a lot going on up top.
Second: Consider wearing your hair up if it’s really long. This will elongate your neck and really bring that VA-VOOM factor you want.
Now see! That’s not so bad. Two simple tips and you are on your way to editorial bliss.

Wednesday Wedding Do’s! — DIY Doily Lamp

Oh my goodness! Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how insanely AWESOME this is! Even if you don’t dig doilies as much as I apparently do, it’s still a fun idea that can hopefully get your juices flowing and get you thinking about what kind of fun DIY elements you can add to your own wedding that are perhaps not as traditional. I can totally picture these just hanging over reception tables or under a tree over a desert table under a twinkling sky! PLEASE someone make this happen! And then call me so I can come photograph it!

B.A.M. — High School Graduation and Life in Black and White

Last Tuesday my brother and sister graduated from High School. It was a bitter-sweet moment for me as I watched the two people I love more than anything in this world grow up and turn into such wonderful, amazing, and beautiful adults. Words cannot describe how proud I was to watch them cross the stage and accept their diploma’s signifying the start of their new life and the official end of our childhood and growing up together.

I know they are going to do amazing things and be so successful in anything they set their minds to. I am so happy to say that I am the older sister of two breathtakingly wonderful human beings. I am so proud of you Hunter and Lacie. You are my best friend’s and I love you both so much more than you will ever know<3

So naturally since it was Hunter and Lacie’s Graduation we had a lot of family in town. Jason documented the majority of the weekend and I’m really loving the Black and White photojournalistic photo’s he’s been completely NAILING lately. So here’s my life in Black and White Love for the week.

Jason and Devonne — Carver Backyard Vow Renewal

Jason and Devonne were married when they were just teenagers. However, they didn’t get to have a “real” wedding since they were so young and Jason was in the military. Now they finally had that chance. They came up to Portland from Georgia, where they currently reside, in order to renew their vows, have a wedding, and share their love with their friends and family. When I was told I’d be photographing a vow renewal I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. I’d never shot one so I thought it would just be simple, no decorations really, and just a handful of people. As soon I as arrived I knew I was DEAD. WRONG. They had beautiful, but simple handmade details that were not over done as if they were for wedding, but just right for a vow renewal and their casual personalities. Devonne was in a gorgeous wedding dress, and they were surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones. The house/yard they renewed their vows on was not just any house, it was a beautiful house surrounded by woods, a big open back yard, chickens, and a river. Words cannot describe how beautiful their day was. It was everything I hope every couple’s vow renewal will be. Loving, simple, beautiful, and most importantly fun. Jason and Devonne were definitely not afraid of having fun. (They arrived to the ceremony in on a four-wheeler!)

I’m still working on slowly integrating stop motions into my shoots, but still trying to figure out how to get the right schedule down. Since I was there to take photographs I focused mainly on that, but I was able to snag a little bit of stop motion at the end of the reception so be sure to check out the quick, but none the less sweet video at the end of the post! [=

Thank you guys and your family so much for being so welcoming and friendly. You all truly made my job easy.

**Please change video settings to 480p if you are able to. I’m not sure how to change this setting permanently in YouTube without it choosing automatically for me. Anyone have any ideas?!**

This week’s B.A.M. is going to have to be super fast! My brother and sister are graduating in two days, YAY! [=
So I have tons of family in town and my dad flies in tonight! I haven’t seen him in almost two years so needless to say I’m super excited!

So this week I’m digging:

Mexican Pizza’s! I posted this on facebook a while ago, but I LOOOOVVVEEE Dingo’s Mexican Pizza’s. Unfortunately they took it off the menu this past Friday…I cried. For reals. R.I.P My beloved friend…

Number two: I’m redoing my brand and looking for lots of fun, funky fonts. I’m totally loving the colorful, block letter type lately! This tray is absolutely AWESOME! If only I knew where to purchase it…

Number 3: Adventures! Who doesn’t love going on adventures?! But! Now I have a lovely little companion to help share in on them with me and I couldn’t ask for a better exploration mate [=
This was us today at Multnomah Falls. Emma-Lou was such a trooper in that cold water and all those rocks. I love her [=
