Personal Shoot: Lacie and Ramon

32 degrees.
That’s what the temperature was the day of this photo shoot. A bombing 32 degrees! That is not taking into account the fact that we were right on the water with a cold breeze flowing over it…but when Portland gives you sun in the middle of January, YOU TAKE IT! You don’t complain, you don’t chatter your teeth, you don’t even plan. You wake up, call your sister, and wing it. [;

Lacie is an absolute champ. The boys were freezing and shaking (Jason was bundled up in a jacket, gloves, and a beanie-the big wimp) all while Lacie was rocking a dress and a bathing suit. She was cold, but as soon as the camera was on her there wasn’t a bit of pain showing in her face.

I really didn’t have much of a plan or goal to accomplish with this shoot. It was really just for fun and to try something I had never really done before. My favorite shots from this day were taken in lighting situations I would normally stray away from, but since there was no pressure and we were just having fun I went for it! I pushed myself and they turned out beautiful<3

Portland Laurelhurst Club Wedding: Jessica and Gabe

This past weekend Jessica and Gabe said “I Do!” with one of the most touching ceremonies I have ever had the pleasure of documenting.

Throughout the day it was extremely obvious that their friends really are the light of their lives and mean so much to them. From having a close friend officiate the ceremony and sing a beautiful song right before the kiss to having a bridal party greeting line to say hello, hug, and high-five each and every one of their guests…there really was just something “about” this wedding. It was so personal, loving, and inviting.

This is exactly how Jessica and Gabe are and as a couple you can just see the love oozing out of each one of their pores. Not only for one another, but for everyone around them. They compliment each other in every way imaginable. The running joke of the day was how much Jessica talks and how outgoing and enthusiastic she is about everything versus how quite and easy-going Gabe is. They really are the perfect match for each other and you couldn’t take one look at them without getting a huge smile on your face.

Jessica and Gabe thank you so much for allowing us to be present on your special day. It truly was beautiful. I cried, I laughed, I even almost let out a YAHOO! in the middle of the ceremony, but contained myself. [=

Wednesday Wedding Do’s! — Side Table Scape

Either I’m slowing down or time is speeding up. Wednesday just keeps coming faster and faster each week!

This week’s Wednesday Wedding Do is from Jasmine Star’s creativeLIVE inspiration shoot I attended a couple of months ago. I’m feeling super nostalgic and missing all my friends so I thought I would highlight my trip again and take a little walk down memory lane. Plus, these side table scape’s are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Every bride should do this even if it is just for the wedding party table! Seriously…just do it and then watch everyone ogle and awe over them.

To view the table in all it’s glory check out Jasmine’s Blog post about it: here
Or the feature it received on Grey Likes Weddings: here

Wednesday Wedding Do’s! — BOLD necklaces!

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it is Wednesday already. It feels like I JUST posted last week’s Wednesday Wedding Do! I have been so busy planning my styled shoot that is rapidly approaching and fulfilling my resolution for the year to put myself out there more, network, and make some deng friends in this wonderful industry! Anywho…without further ado I present to you probably my favorite Wednesday Wedding Do thus far! Dun, dun, dun ….BOLD NECKLACES!

I know a lot of Brides are always worried about their dress neck line and therefore opt for the simple small necklace (if any necklace at all) and I’m here to tell you…
achem,
**pulls out megaphones**
“LADIES….THERE IS ANOTHER WAY!”

Big, Bold, Beautiful jewelry will not only complement your dress, but it will make you fabulous and draw attention to the person who matters most in this picture…YOU, duh. [;

There are a few things you can do to make sure your big beautiful necklace adds to your look and doesn’t make you look all Mr. T starter kit on us!

So First: Wear preferably a strapless dress that doesn’t have a lot going on up top.
Second: Consider wearing your hair up if it’s really long. This will elongate your neck and really bring that VA-VOOM factor you want.
Now see! That’s not so bad. Two simple tips and you are on your way to editorial bliss.

Wednesday Wedding Do’s — A Totally Fashionable Bride! (A day late…)

I was feeling a little under the weather yesterday, so unfortunately that means I wasn’t able to get my “Wednesday Wedding Do’s” in! Fear not! I am still posting it, it will just have to temporarily be changed to “Thursday Tie The Knot!” (just for right now)

So today’s Wednesday’s Wedding Do’s Thursday Tie the Knot! Comes to us from Glitter Weddings. It’s an absolutely drool worthy, Fashionable Bride. I honestly can’t wait until I get married so I can do this as well! I’m also quite enamored of the photograph in general! But hopefully this will maybe inspire a couple Bride’s to consider wearing something a little more edgy than a cardigan for your wedding. (Not that there is anything wrong with cardigan’s, they’re super cute!) But this is just freaking beautiful!

Be sure to check out the post on Glitter Weddings where you can even see a style board she put together in case you want to replicate it on your own wedding day! (Please please please say yes!)

HOLLA! Jasmine Star Editorial Wedding Inspiration Shoot! — creativeLIVE

The photos are out! The press has been alerted!…And I miss my friends ]=

In case you didn’t catch the creativeLIVE workshop with Jasmine Star the other week she shot a real life stylized shoot LIVE. ON THE AIR. WITH EVERYONE WATCHING. And she totally ROCKED it! Watching Jasmine work was probably one of my favorite parts of the workshop. I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful and educational it was. She is so in touch with what she does, how she flows, and watching her raw files come up on the tv after every click of the camera honestly made me sick to my stomach because they were all so beautiful and perfect. I won’t go into too much detail about everything because you should definitely BUY the workshop! I was literally there when she was teaching it and I have still referenced it numerous times so I can’t even begin to tell you what a wonderful asset it has been! I didn’t take too many photos as I was obviously there to learn and I was too mesmerized by Jasmine’s beautiful photos, her smooth transitions, and her perfect, naturally blowing hair. Seriously, think 80’s bay watch running out of the water looking all fabulous and perfect. That’s what Jasmine looks like when she’s working her camera. So here’s the couple of photos I took and some fun behind the scenes shoot! Be sure to check out Jasmine’s beautiful photographs on her blog and on Grey Like’s Weddings!

For all you fabulous Brides out there…PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take inspiration in these photographs. Words cannot even describe how beautiful, original, and completely EPIC these side table florals/designs are. I cannot wait for this whole trend to hopefully take the wedding industry by storm and we all start seeing it more and more! It’s so beautiful and makes complete sense! I hope you all find some inspiration in these photos and be sure to head over and see Jasmine’s for the complete experience!

Thank you to all the fabulous creative professionals involved that made this shoot so beautiful and possible so that all of us could gain special insight and take home ideas, inspiration, and most importantly a drive and fire in our bellies to do something as beautiful ourselves!

B.A.M. — Stylish Books, Fun Summer Hair, and Cute Coasters.

Hello friends!

Here I am with another installment of B.A.M. Letting you know all the pretty rockin’ things I’ve been digging this past week. I have an exam tomorrow and apparently I’m late for a dinner I didn’t know I was attending! Haha So here we go!

1. I got this A.W.E.S.O.M.E.S.A.U.C.E (whew, that was kind of difficult) book for my birthday from Jason and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I LOVE it! It’s full of such awesome ideas/inspiration/and beauty!

B.A.M | Fashion, Food, Jasmine Star, and BFF’s

I missed my B.A.M last week, but in my defense I was having a very exciting one in Seattle with creativeLIVE!

So…here’s my B.A.M-b.o.t (Brittany’s Awesome Mixer-back on track) Okay, that’s kind of a stretch…

1. FFFFFFFFFF-Fashion.
Yes, this is my hopefully semi-regular segment influenced by Flight of the Conchords. Of course I’ll never be quite as cool as they are…or as fashionable.

This is what I’m wearing lately since spring is “supposedly” just around the corner. I love the bright color of my shorts and how they contrast against my favorite preppy cardigan. Not to mention the pop of color in my ring. I’m trying to get better at accessorizing and messy necklaces are totally my new jam.

Shirt: Forever 21
Cardigan: Gap
Jewelry: Forever 21
Clutch: Nine West
